Sigma Xi presents Xientia - a symposium on the globally relevant subject: Pollution Detection and Management for Safe Health and Sustainable Environment. The event features 4 esteemed speakers, who are well-versed in diverse research domains concerned with Environmental Health and Sustainable Development. Deliberation will be held among the speakers, enlightening the audience about the effects of pollution on health and the environment, and ways to achieve sustainability.
We are also conducting an exciting ‘Ideathon’ on a theme similar to that of the symposium, "Pollution Management for Sustainable Environment". Participants of the Ideathon will be able to showcase their resolve to tackle this global issue by coming up with sustainability models and stand a chance to win from a prize pool of Rs 10000.
1. Your innovation should focus towards providing novel solutions to any ONE of the key SDG areas floated for the competition.
2. A team of up to four students from any year and department of VIT Vellore can participate. can participate.
3. A certificate of participation will be given to all those participants who submit their ideas within the timeline. Submissions start from 21st November 2021 and end on 25th November 2021 at 12:00 AM.
4. Team members are required to upload their project .pptx format (around 20 slides) to a shared drive link accessible for all. It must contain the SDG theme chosen, name of project/idea, name of team and names of team members.
5. Projects will be shortlisted from all submissions and evaluated by guest speakers of Xientia.
6. The top three will be selected as the winners, with the following prize distribution:
For teams of up to four people, the cash prize will be deposited in the bank account of the team leader.
7. The announcement of the winners shall be made during Xientia on 27 October 2021, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM IST.
